Military Credits


QSPs and to a lesser extent graduates of EFT/BFJT and EFT ground School are awarded certain credits towards civilian licenses. These are all laid down in CAP 2254.


The big take away with any credit scheme, is that in almost all cases, you have to meet the requirement for license issue, and pass the test. The credits are mostly to do with the training towards the skills test.


For PPL this is essentially meaningless as there isn't a formal requirement to undertake a set syllabus and you still need to meet the requirements as per FCL.210A:


(a) Applicants for a PPL(A) shall have completed at least 45 hours of flight instruction in aeroplanes or TMGs, 5 of which may have been completed in an FSTD, including at least:

(1)  25 hours of dual flight instruction; and
